Important — not medical advice. Beside Birth provides supportive education and information only. It is not medical, midwifery, or professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and using it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. Always follow your midwife, doctor, or maternity team, and never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read here. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (e.g. 911 in the US, 999 in the UK) or your maternity unit.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service and to purchase a subscription.

2. Your access & free trial

When you join, you get access to the companion free for 7 days. If you do not subscribe, your access ends when the trial ends. We may change or discontinue features at any time.

3. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

• After the 7-day free trial, continued access requires a paid subscription at the price shown at checkout (currently US$29 per month), billed through our payment provider, Stripe.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions automatically renew each billing period until you cancel. By subscribing you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
• Cancel anytime: you can cancel before your next renewal to stop future charges; you'll keep access through the period you've paid for.
• Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Contact us if something went wrong and we'll do our best to help.
• Prices may change; we'll give notice of changes to recurring prices as required by law.

4. Acceptable use

Please use the Service lawfully and respectfully. Do not misuse it, attempt to access it in unauthorized ways, resell or redistribute the content, or use it to harm others. In any community space, be kind and follow the community rules.

5. Intellectual property

The Service and its content (text, video, graphics, and design) are owned by Beside Birth or its licensors and are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the content is complete, accurate, or suitable for your situation, and we make no promises about any outcome (including any birth, feeding, or recovery outcome). Your choices are your own.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beside Birth and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions you make based on the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new date; continued use means you accept the changes.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of Beside Birth is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
